If you want to check is your site is indexed by search engine fire the following command in search engine
It will show you all list of pages that are indexed by search engines. If your site has 100 pages and google list only 5 of them then you will be in trouble. Cached link shows you when google have cached version copy of webpage. Cache is a stored page – copy of webpage what a page look like when last time google crawl a site.
Site:domainName also work for bing. What about yahoo ? Yahoo get search result from bing. So whatever you see in bing you will see same result in yahoo.
site:domainName also work with yahoo siteexplorer (remember not yahoo.com it is yahoo site explorer)
What do to if search engine not indexed your site ?
- Please check the syntax that you have correctly entered or not in a search engine ?
- Remember site:domainName (no spaces )
- Check with robots.txt file. It look like with following code.
Means allow all robots
Tells the robot that it should not visit any pages on the site.
To allow only single robot use
Following code tells robots to index entire site.
Following code tells robots to stay out of entire site.
Remember to use all lower case for the filename: “robots.txt“, not “Robots.TXT.
